Two leaves from each  water lily have reached the surface today.  The two astilbes on the bank are recovering well after winter (left foreground).  The blanket week is confined to the edges this year and provided cover for the tadpoles and the newts which have arrived to spawn.

My newly acquired shoal of 9 rudd have settled in.

The top pond planting areas are filling nicely, this was a favourite spot for frogs to lay their spawn this year.
