The next job was to fill the marginal planting area with soil, plant it up and cover it with 10mm gravel.

The gravel is about two inches below the water surface.

I have purchased a 5000 litres per hour pump which is giving me a reasonable if slightly disappointing flow rate over the 18 inch wide waterfall.

My attention now turns to the middle pool where I have to cover the liner at the sides and the waterfall itself.  I have started doing this by covering the liner with cement and pressing 20mm gravel and cobbles into it.

The sides will also have a small planting areas for ferns.
